Slow Cooker Pot Roast.
Ingredients
Beef: 3–4 lb beef chuck roast.
Seasoning: 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon dried thyme, 1 tablespoon dried rosemary, 1 tablespoon garlic powder.
Cooking Liquid: 1 ½ cups beef broth, ¼ cup soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce.
Aromatics: 1 large yellow onion (chopped), 4 cloves garlic (minced).
Instructions
Sear the Roast: Season the beef roast generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
Prepare the Slow Cooker: Place the chopped onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
Add Ingredients: Place the seared roast on top of the onions. Pour the beef broth and soy sauce (or Worcestershire sauce) into the slow cooker around the roast.
Cook: Cover and cook on Low for 8–10 hours or on High for 5–6 hours, until the meat is fork-tender and pulls apart easily.
