š„© Swiss Steak šIngredients:⢠2 lbs beef round steak, cut into portions⢠½ cup all-purpose flour⢠2 tbsp olive oil⢠1 large onion, sliced⢠1 green bell pepper, sliced⢠3 cloves garlic, minced⢠1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes⢠1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce⢠1½ cups beef broth⢠1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce⢠1 tsp paprika⢠1 tsp Italian seasoning⢠½ tsp black pepper⢠Salt, to taste⢠1 tbsp fresh parsley, choppedMethod:1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Season the steaks with salt, black pepper, and paprika, then lightly coat them with flour.2. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the steaks for 2ā3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.3. Add the onion and bell pepper to the same skillet and cook for 5ā6 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.5. Return the steaks to the skillet, spooning some of the tomato sauce over the top. Cover tightly and transfer to the oven.6. Bake for 1½ā2 hours, or until the steak is very tender and easily cut with a fork.7. Remove from the oven and let the steak rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles with plenty of the tomato gravy.
